... And it has lost a LOT of its coffee character. BUT, on the other hand the bourbon and dark chocolate malts shine through so nicely. I actually prefer it like this, so similar to Black OPS, one of my favorite bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts.

I haven't bought it, probably wont. I RARELY buy bottles anymore that cost over $5 (Sculpin is one of the few exceptions).
Black Butte XX was one of my favorite porters from last year. Glad you were able to age it a year (or at least found one that was). I think cellaring beers like this is the way to go. Then you can try a vertical tasting later on as a reward for your patience. Cheers!
