More Sneak Peek- Bruery Black Tuesday

Patrick and Jonas(sp?) shared another bottle with us, this of the famed Black Tuesday which will be released later this month but is already a top 10 beer in the world (#4 to be exact) on beeradvocate. You gotta have a sweet tooth to love this beer... But who doesn't have a sweet tooth? Wait until the release date later this month, people outside of So Cal have already been going nuts trying to set up trades for this beer, it's only gonna get crazier.

I too have this sweet tooth. It was nice to try this one out of the bottle tonight. All my less-than-adequate carbonation fears have been alleviated. The bottled version was just as good as I remember it being on tap. Nice to kick it again in such a sweet spot. I'm sure the drive beat the hell out of hauling it all the way back to Uptown.

Black Tuesday was absolutely wonderful at the 2009 GABF. The line for The Bruery around 8pm each night was well worth the wait for that dark sweet liquid. Definitely one of the sweetest imperial stout brews I've had but quite excellent. I give this a big thumbs up!

I have two bottles coming to me. Can't wait. How would you rate BT with other stouts you've tried?

I am generally not a huge fan of real big imperial stouts, but there are some that I've really loved- Abyss, some vintages of Stone IRS, Kentucky Breakfast Stout to name a few, and a bunch that I've liked but not loved. BT is in a whole other league. It's so sweet but the high alcohol does a good job to compliment it, although in no way is it harsh or anything like that. There isn't a whole lot of (or any that I can detect) roastiness in BT like some other stouts rely heavily on (ie Abyss) so it's a whole different flavor profile. As far as sweeter stouts go, this one is amazing, and would have to be the best I've had.
